Augurs are a genetically altered strain of specialized Orators engineered by the Scylla Naiadi.

Although Augurs still fly using helium-filled gas sacs combined with a weak telekinetic psi-ability for lift and motive power, they are faster than Keepers due to the evolution of a pneumatized carapace.
The Augur's sight radius expands when it stays still and shrinks when it moves. However, the detection radius does not increase. The Augur can create a small patch of Creep through an activated anatomical process, the radius steadily expanding with time, during which the Augur must remain stationary. The Augur can also drop a non-attacking slime organism, temporarily disabling units and buildings caught in its effect.
