The Gorgon is an advanced strain of Ignilisk, utilized by its namesake brood within the Dark Swarm.

The Gorgon is even tougher and more heavily armored then the Ignilisk, and its high-speed regeneration ability extends to when it remains above ground as well. If this was not enough, the Gorgon possesses a lethal poison in its fangs, making melee combat even less tempting.
The Gorgon possesses a tougher carapace that contains its internal heat signatures, making it cool to the touch and therefore not liable to explode on contact with flamable materials. However, it secretes a deadly contact poison over its shell, deterring enemies from physical contact.
