Jorium is a type of rare crystal with psionic related properties.
It is not entirely known how the crystals mimic brain waves, but many Terran researchers agree that it has potential to enhance the natural psionic abilities of even the lowest rated psychic. On the street, there is a black market for a substance called Jorium tears that is based off a by-product extracted from the refinement process. Rumors say it is mainly for gamblers looking to score big or anyone trying to guess when the next alien invasion will come.
The Zerg also use Jorium in their evolutionary experiments, though to what extent is unknown to the other Koprulu races.
