The Seeder is a primal Zerg strain specializing in planetary infestation.
Assimilated roughly after the fall of the Xel'Naga, this strain was launched from a Leviathan toward inhabited worlds to set up bases. Like the Drone, a Seeder morphs itself into either a Hatchery for direct invasions or Virophages for more subtle infestations.
When more effective infestation methods evolved, the Seeder gradually re-assimilated into the swarm as bio matter for more useful strains.
Special abilities:
- Hatchery Morph - transforms into a Hatchery with three larvae at the start
- Virophage Morph - transforms into a Virophage and spawns infested versions of the closest biological species
